Artisan Dairy Food Safety Plan Coaching Workshop

This coaching workshop is intended for Artisan Cheese and Dairy Food Producers who are preparing to create, or are already developing, a FSMA compliant, preventive control (PC)-based, food safety plan for their facility. The goal of this workshop is to provide Food Safety Plan review and coaching sessions that guide attendees through each step in development process. PCQI lead trainers will be present to review topics and answer questions.

Pollinator and Beneficial Insect Conservation Short Course

This full day workshop will focus on concepts around protecting and enhancing populations of pollinators and beneficial insects in agricultural landscapes. The course will provide an overview of pollinator and beneficial insect natural history and farm practices that support these populations, such as protecting and creating habitat, modified horticultural practices, and advice on how to manage pests while protecting pollinators.
Introductory topics include the principles of pollinator biology and integrated crop pollination, the economics of insect pollination, basic field identification, and evaluating pollinator and beneficial insect habitat. Advanced modules will cover land management practices for pollinator protection, pollinator habitat restoration, incorporating pollinator conservation into federal conservation programs, selection of plants for pollinator enhancement sites, management of natural landscapes, and financial and technical resources to support these efforts. Throughout the short course these training modules are illustrated by case studies of pollinator conservation efforts across the country.

This session will cover APRB design, recommended urban tree species, installation techniques, and basic troubleshooting. Participants will not only learn the fundamentals of APRBs as a tool for growing a diverse range of urban tree species, but will also gain the knowledge and confidence to teach others how to build and manage them.NOTE: Registration is required for this workshop. Attendance will be capped at 25 people.

Community Gardens Soil Testing Program Accepting Applications
Soil testing supports the growth and expansion of community gardens by protecting the health and safety of the food produced in these gardens. CCE Harvest NY, in partnership with the NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets (AGM) and the Cornell Soil Health Lab, is offering eligible, food-producing gardens in New York State the opportunity to send soil samples for testing without charge.The soil test will analyze samples for heavy metals and nutrient levels. Test results help gardeners make appropriate plans to produce high quality fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Technical support and education for participating growers will be available from the CCE Harvest New York team. Learn more about the 2026 Community Gardens Soil Testing Program.
