Web Design and Development
The inspiration for the look, layout and functionality of the Harvest New York web site resulted from the creativity found at DSD Web Works. In addition, DSD Web Works custom built a complete user friendly content management system (CMS) which allows program staff to easily create and manipulate content. The administrative management back-end allows specialists to create informative abstracts or upload field trials, admins can upload information on new staff members, authorized personnel can add events to the events calendar or simply add an announcement. In addition, the backend helps to easily manage sponsors, event registrants and enrollees.
An e-commerce component has been seamlessly integrated to allow for event registrations, event sponsorships and/or team donations.
All content can be cross linked to multiple and relevant topics and/or crops which allows for the site visitor to easily find relevant events and content.
DSD Web Works is a Cornell University authorized preferred vendor which allows them to immediately start on any Cornell University affiliated website or web application. They have worked directly with Cornell University CIT (Cornell Information Technologies) to obtain desired domain names (subdomains), install SSL Certificates to allow for secure connection and to properly configure server instances to host all team web sites, databases and custom web application scripts.
